Let's talk about nutrition and eating right. There’s a lot of misconceptions about dieting, nutrition, and just eating in general. While in college, I learned about how people generally gravitate towards junk food because of convenience and it's inexpensive. I want to educate my readers about the importance of incorporating healthy nutrient-rich foods as a lifestyle instead of "just a diet". I am not knocking all diets like Paleo, Keto, or even intermittent fasting. These diets are great if done correctly for the individual's body. However, most people don’t spend the time to do the proper research and listen to their bodies because they want a quick fix which usually leads to crash diets.
Here are 3 tips to enrich your life!!!!
Try not to go to the grocery store hungry. Your eyes will be bigger than your stomach and get anything and everything that looks delicious.
Have an idea or list of what you need and try not to deviate from it too much.
Shop the perimeter. That's where most fresh and healthy items are located.
Consider convenience. Stock up on frozen items that can easily be microwaved and eaten, such as frozen veggetables or fully cooked frozen chicken. This can save hours in the kitchen if time is often a factor.
Replacing Carbs Instead of eating carbs with every meal, like rice, bread, and pasta, switch them with lower carb options such as cauliflower rice, sweet potatoes, or zucchini pasta. This alone can help reduce inches around the waistline.
Water Intake Drinking water can be so boring, but it is so important for the body. Here are some tips that I use to hydrate my body and tickle your taste buds.
Water Flavoring: I love flavoring like Mio or propel in my water. This helps me reach my goal of drinking a gallon day without it feeling burdensome.
Infuse Fruits- Fusion water is more than just adding lemons. Simply slice up fresh produce like strawberries, oranges, lemons, or even kiwis and toss them in your water. You can add herbs to enhance the flavor as well.
Chai Seeds- These little seeds are amazing because they really help with hydration. They have the ability to absorb up to 9-10 times their weight in water. They are small but give an impactful punch, chia seeds have a variety of benefits and are considered a superfood!
